the hurt within

ever notice how much hatred and greed is in the world today.

it doesn't matter what you have... you can have a lot or you can have a little... and guaranteed... someone will want it and believe that he or she has a right to it...

it is not always a possession... it can be a lifestyle or even a dream... and you can bet your arse that someone will want to try and take it away...

in my opinion jealousy and greed is one of the biggest driving forces behind most actions of man.

even love can be a pure feeling that can quite easily grow in jealousy which is another word for greed.

it is so sad to see these actions surrounding us in every day life and even sadder to see people fuelling these feelings in others for their own personal amusement.

unfortunately these actions generally hurt other people and can seriously damage relationships.

who has the right to tell anyone who they can have a relationship with..???

just as who has the right to tell you what possessions you can have or what you will do with your life...

life is so short and it should be enjoyed and not absorbed by this crap...

I have just had a bit of a bad day today, thus why I am choosing to vent on here...

the world is full of breathtaking sights and beautiful people....

...and life should be a wonderful experience and not a sad and lonely existence, so go and enjoy it...

a spur of the moment decision...

the wife and I started out fishing on good Friday 2011. we ended up catching 5 bream between us. 3 good sized and 2 little ones. we threw em all back but we enjoyed the morning out in the sun with our feet in the water at Grays point. we are lucky that we both love the water so much.

after a gruelling session of fishing... hauling in the monsters... we were unsure of what to do... it was either go to the Easter show, drive up the Blue Mountains or go into Darling Harbour for a wander...

after cleaning up the gear, driving home and having a shower... we decided to go to Darling Harbour...

while in there we stumbled across the Maritime Museum which was offering tours on the Destroyer HMAS Vampire and the submarine Onslow. we couldn't say no...

we spent the next 2 hours going all over both vessels trying to get an idea on how life was for all the people on board...

HMAS Vampire was an amazing sight... the big deck guns... the galley... sleeping quarters... control room...

The wife even jumped in the captains chair and pretended to.... AAARRRGGGHHHH..... (no...not a pirate ship sweetie)

the control room was a sight... so many buttons and controls

after a good look at the destroyer we went aboard the submarine ONSLOW.

it was so tight and cramped in there and I must say we both felt a little claustrophobic...

we felt very sorry for anyone who may have had to spend lengthy time on board...

then we went into the museum itself and had a good look at memories of the past and recorded accomplishments that make up Australia's history...

it ended up being one of the most interesting and enjoyable days we have had in a while...

just goes to show that a spur of the moment decision can turn out to be great...

Taste of Sydney 2010

Pip and I were asked to do a book signing at the Taste of Sydney food festival in 2010.

what an experience....

the book writing has taken us in many different directions and given us quite a few daunting, yet exciting life experiences...

The Gift

my wife gave me a gift a few months ago for our anniversary... a camera...xxx

little did she know at the time that this simple gift has opened up an entirely new outlook on life for me. looking at the world through this camera makes me slow down and see the beauty in front of me and helps me to find the true things in life that inspire me and leave me breathless...

for example... my love of the rolling waves of the ocean can be captured in a clear, crisp photo...

it is so nice to have loving thought put into a gift...

thankyou Pip....xxx
